Our Philosophy

As dawn breaks upon the horizon, golden shafts of light shimmer over the ocean waves now lapping gently on the shore. The night of fury spent, leaving remnants of the howling, raging storm awash on the shoreline. Stretching as far as one could see starfish litter the coast.

The old man drew the collar of his windbreaker tight against his neck and glanced back toward his grandson scrambling over the rocks along the shore. Resolutely he turns and begins to pick up one starfish after another, returning them to the sea.

“Grandpa!” the curious youngster called out. “Why do you bother?” He races across the wet sand and careens into his grandfather. “There’s millions and millions of ‘em out here. They’re all gonna die. They’re everywhere!” he adds breathlessly. Gloriously winded from his adventure across the rocks, his eyes dance with delight and wonder.

The grandfather smiles, and places his weathered hand upon the dear one’s shoulder. “Why?” he answers and turns slowly, bending to pick up one more starfish. Holding it gently and returning it to the sea he replies, “Because it matters to this one.”

This is the philosophy of Global Outreach Services, Inc.--“Because it matters to this one.” We can make a difference, and we’ll start with one.
