Ministry ReportBy: Victoria L. Krynock
As I reflect on what has been accomplished in the fourteen months since Global Outreach Services, Inc. has been formed, I am amazed! With your financial and prayer support we have seen over 5,000 people give their lives to Christ after hearing the gospel preached. A large expedition truck was purchased in November of 1999 capable of transporting 20 people plus gear and water for all. Not only is this useful in transporting mission teams, but also is used regularly by the church to preach the gospel in remote areas. The generator enables power to be available for the sound systems needed for outdoor ministry. And the West Coast team recently purchased a brand new truck for Pastor Julius to use in his apostolic work. Financial support has been given by Global Outreach Services to three area schools in Luekume; the remote village where the Chief gifted our team with a goat after ministering in his village for a week. Each of our teams have traveled to areas where white people had never been before. Historic events were accomplished for both the Africans and Americans. The Christian school in Kitale, the town where Pastor Julius lives with his family, also received financial support from the ministry. Monthly support was given to Pastors Julius Mbagaya and John Lodinyo and financial assistance was given to Pastor James Tembula to aid with the purchase of his car and tuition fees for his children. A computer was donated to the church in Kitale which, among other things, will aid in communicating between Kenya and the United States via email. Many bicycles, bibles and reference books have been distributed to local pastors. As a tool for sharing the gospel, cases and cases of medical supplies were distributed. Our water project is progressing. Two surveys have been done. The first almost caused a tribal war when the village that controls the source of the water beat the survey officials and ran them off. However, after negotiations, with Pastor John as the mediator, the second survey was permitted. We are awaiting results and direction for the next step. Will it be a deep well or spring? Will it have to be piped or pumped? The cost will be determined accordingly. A truckload of rice was also purchased for the famine relief and distributed by Pastor John and his people. Gifts of musical instruments, clothing, tools, chain saws, and personal items helped to bless the people emotionally, spiritually, and economically. For every chain saw, three men were able to have employment. Reports of raiders attacking the men working in the forest felling trees, killing them and stealing their saws were made by our people that were there working. However, God in His faithfulness and great mercy protected our brothers. They were able to escape with their lives and their saw! The fact that all of this has been accomplished and it’s only a little over one year since Global Outreach Services, Inc. was formed and not even a year since our first mission trip, (March) amazes me. I stand in awe of what He has done. And I thank every one of you for your contributions. From the bottom of my heart, know I am deeply grateful for your love and sacrifice. As you can see, you CAN make a difference! The Scripture God gave to me for this month is Jeremiah 22:16 – “He pled the cause of the afflicted and needy; then it was well. Is not that what it means to know Me?” 01/2000
