Kenya Comments about Flat Tires
By: Victoria L. Krynock

In April 1999’s article Missionary Trip to Kenya, Africa” while sharing about the miracles that occurred during our trip to Kenya, Africa, I told of our adventure into Uganda. This was made especially difficult because of the extreme condition of the roads and the continuous damage inflicted upon our vehicle. On May 7th, I received an e-mail from Pastor Julius Mbagaya. Following are excerpts from that correspondence:

"We have just returned from Uganda after one of the most hectic missions we have ever had in East Africa. The car broke down five times-once on our way to and four times on our way back. We were in the remotest part of the world, 65 miles from the nearest town on rough dirt roads. The worst roads exist here.

Because of the roads and the car breakdowns, we were five hours late for the border. We had to spend a night in Tororo (Uganda)….The roads were so bumpy that when I had a flat tyre I could not realize so I drove on it and even broke the rim. On our way back I had to look for old friends to get us a tyre for use. But thousands turned up for the meetings and received Christ."

I share this with you because we Americans have no concept of what our brothers and sisters in other countries face on a daily basis, unless you have traveled and experienced first-hand the conditions. We have no roads in the states to even begin to compare with theirs. Imagine yourself driving on a dry riverbed and that would come close to the experience.
