| Kenya Comments about Hunger |

"An average Kenyan gets a dollar a day and the cost of food is about the same as in the US. Many Kenyans are unemployed, so getting food for an average Kenyan is difficult because they don’t have money to pay for it. Many of my brothers and sisters in Christ suffer hunger everyday. Breakfast is often not considered and getting a couple of pieces of white bread and a cup of tea for lunch or some bananas is common. For supper a white corn meal called ugali with cooked greens is customary. I thank God I have gotten something to eat most of the time and have been able to bless others." Quoted from an e-mail sent by Mike A. on April 17, 1999 from Kitale, Kenya during his missionary trip.. |
